Craig Spaeth is currently a student at Syracuse University seeking a Computer Art BFA in Spring 2010. He is deeply involved in new media having created a variety of successful websites, web applications, video games, and new media art.

 

Since 2004 Craig has been a motivated and successful e-commerce entrepreneur selling self written Pascal based macro software. In the subsequent years Craig has also launched a successful online PBBG, Facebook application, and freelance career.

 

Craig is currently involved in many upcomming projects, however, at the moment Craig is mainly interested in furthering his career in the New Media industry

The Ultimate Battle: Pirates vs. Ninjas

A massive multi-player online facebook application. You pick a side, Pirates or Ninjas, and battle other pirates or ninjas in the application to be the best player and faction on the social network.

Citrus Pac

A website created for the Syracuse democrat Political Action Committee. Tasks included creating online and voting application with unique voter keys, mailing list database and bulk mailing application, and building a calendar application.

Stucky Note

Online todo list application. Users create an account and can add, prioritize, and complete their daily tasks instantly anywhere online.

An online travel blog design that ended up never getting used to show updates of the clients' summer road trip.

Commissioned to design a Tumblr blog design for a personal blog. Used wood grain and cloth textures to cater to the client. A clever use of splicing .png and .jpg images was used on the hanging cloth to reduce load time.

Joey Boy's Great Adventure For Fufilment

An adventure game imagined, designed, coded, and built by myself with help on tiles, the boss, and splash screen art from a team of collegues (Emily Robins, Ben Barnhart, James Reynolds, and Dan Davidson) in a 2d computer gaming course. Various sounds and some sprites were taken from various stock and free-use community websites.

A tile based engine was also designed and built to create this game. This includes health and item tracking systems, AI, world and map traversing, and a map editor. Which an example of is presented below. Use the arrow keys to change tiles, and space bar to output a map's value.

Jesus Vs. Harry Potter

Uses a self written tile-based, isometric, engine. The player is launched in to a randomly generated space where he/she takes on the avatar of Jesus and is demanded to eat as many spawning Harry Potters as he/she can.

A massive multi-player persistent browser based game. Players sign up to create a character that battles other player accounts across Exaltica. All artwork, programming, and game design was done from scratch. Features include a combat system, mailing system, forums, items, stores, a travel system, alliances, spells, leveling up, and more.

Developed by a team (Emily Robins, Kelsey Adams, Meg Grube, Marcus Lee, Chad Cable, Tracy Dendy, and Craig Spaeth) as a collaborative project for a 3d Computer Gaming course at Syracuse University. You are young boy dropped in a dark, eerie, and run down circus and must search the circus for keys to unlock a path of escape. My job mainly as programmer requires me to build a large set of platforming mechanics.

A generative art composition creates "reborn" identities by pulling live from a database of participant's Facebook friends. The piece then hacks a text to speech site to generate audio. One can add their data by visiting http://apps.facebook.com/robofriendsdb/

Erin and Kyle

A children's animation piolot episode involving two best friends. The visual style will take on a refined vector aesthetic making prudent use of procedural effects to capture detail in lighting and smooth animation. This is an ongoing collaboration with Jeff Rabinak, where my tasks mainly involve character design, animation, and art direction.
